Arbelaez Compact Library

The client wanted a mini-library to go into the space formerly used as a mini-bar. The dimensional difference was the main problem — bars usually consist of 25" deep cabinets while libraries are 13". The new library cabinets were allowed to crawl out of the former bar alcove and along the adjacent walls. Amidst this, one shelf cantilevered far enough to function as a seat creating a small — almost monastic — nook embedded in the library.
