This bookseller wanted a design for a bookstore / accessories retail space which could transform with each season as fashion dictates. The clients wanted to maximize the number of display opportunities. The design provided for many shelves for books, some of which were hung from the ceiling while others are tabletop height. Each was set on a track allowing the cabinetry to move into a number of different configurations. The cash / wrap was located in a small booth which could be moved back and forth as well. All material selections, although decisively contemporary, were also meant to evoke a timelessness and spirit of old institutional buildings.
